The AI market right now is like the dot-com era all over again.
Every day, a new tool pops up claiming to “revolutionize” your workflow.
But let’s be honest, most of these tools are either:
- Bloated versions of what we already have…
- Tools that won’t survive the next six months, or…
- Solutions to problems you could already solve with better prompting.
So how do you cut through the noise?
Simple. You’ve got to be strategic.
Here’s what I look at when evaluating AI tools:
1. Who’s investing in them?
If a company has strong investors and solid funding, it’s a good sign they’re playing the long game.
No funding? They’re likely on borrowed time.
2. API integration.
Let’s be real, future-proofing matters. If a tool can’t connect to other systems and processes via API, it’s already outdated. Integration is non-negotiable in today’s world.
And one golden rule:
Don’t buy annual memberships.
I know, I know, an annual subscription feels like a great deal. But here’s the hard truth:
I’ve paid for an annual plan, only to watch the tool (and the company) vanish 8 months later.
Stick to monthly subscriptions. They’re flexible, affordable, and give you the freedom to pivot if the tool doesn’t work out.
The bottom line:
Don’t fall for the hype.
Most AI tools won’t last, but the right ones can revolutionize how you work.
Look for strong backing, future-proofing, and to stay agile with your commitments.
Trust me – staying strategic now will save you time, money, and headaches down the road.
At the end of the day, it’s all about creating more freedom and simplicity in your life. So, start small, stay curious, and remember:
